Football Picks sets up the Philadelphia Eagles visiting the St. Louis Rams in the season opening game for both teams on Sunday at the Edward Jones Dome.
The game can be seen live on local FOX Sports stations starting at 1 pm ET.
In the past 10 head-to-head games, the Eagles are 7-3 straight up and 8-1-1 Against The Spread against the Rams. The teams last squared off on Sept. 7, 2008, when Philly blew out St. Louis 38-3 and easily covered the spread as an 8.5-point favorite. The score stayed under the over/under total of 43.5. The total has gone under in five of the past six meetings.
The current NFL ODDS and the football Betting fans should note that St. Louis has been a horrible bet in their past 10 season openers, going 1-8-1 ATS the past 10 Week 1 tilts.
The Rams opened as 4-point underdogs against the spread and are now at -5 and -5.5 at many books. The Eagles are a -220 and -225 moneyline favorite at most sportsbooks and the Rams a +180 moneyline underdog.
The season-opening NFL PICKS have been showing that everybodys power rankings have this game as a real mismatch, as St. Louis is ranked 23rd in the league and Philly is at No. 6 heading into the new season.
There is also a very big discrepancy in the two teams’ record in the opening month of the season, with the Eagles at 6-4 straight up in September and the Rams at a dreadful 1-9 straight up.
The total has gone over in five of Philadelphia’s last five games on the road but has been under in four of St. Louis’s last five games overall and in seven of St. Louis’s last 10 games at home. Philadelphia is 6-2 SU in its last eight games on the road. St. Louis is 5-2 SU in its last seven games at home.
