Florida Gators at No. 1 LSU Tigers Opt in Now to the Right to get a Free Pick for this Big Game
NCAAF Picks previews the game of the week in College Football when the No. 17 Florida Gators battle the No. 1 LSU Tigers in a matchup of top SEC conference teams Saturday at Tiger Stadium (3:30 pm ET, CBS)
NCAA Football Odds opened with the Tigers as 12-point favorites but bettors poured money on them and they were quickly up to 14-point home chalk. The moneyline has not seen much movement, with the Tigers hovering around the opening number of -500 and the Gators around +400. The over/under total has dropped from the opening of 42.5 to 41.5.
Florida (4-1 SU, 3-1-1 ATS) and LSU (5-0 SU, 3-2 ATS) are even in the recent head-to-head series, each winning five times in the past 10 meetings, while the Gators are 6-3-1 ATS in those games.
When the teams last squared off on Oct. 9 last season, the Tigers beat the Gators 33-19 and cashed as a 6.5-point road underdog. The score sailed over the total of 43.5.
It’s been a big week for the Tigers, as they leapfrogged the Oklahoma Sooners to take over the No. 1 spot in the AP Top 25. But LSU remains No. 2 behind the Sooners in the USA Today Poll. The Gators, meanwhile, are No. 17 in the AP Top 25 and No. 18 in the USA Today Poll.
Both teams have some big question marks heading into this game in terms of injuries. Quarterback John Brantley is questionable for the Gators with a leg injury, while Tigers RB Spencer Ware is questionable with a leg injury.
NCAA Football Wagering fans should note that the Gators are a solid 5-1 SU and 4-1-1 ATS in their past five, and over/under bettors should note the over has cashed in four of Florida’s last six overall and in five of their last seven on the road.
LSU is 5-0 SU in its last five, both overall and at home. With a stellar record this year check out the local handicappers college football picks and predictions as the 2011 betting season has been the best we have seen in years.
