Lions vs Falcons Picks Against the Spread
Detroit pushed off track?
The Detroit Lions will be looking to bounce back from a week 6 loss, and will welcome the hungry
Atlanta Falcons to Ford Field. Before the start of the year people would never have predicted the starts
these two teams have had. There could even be a little irony as many would have expected these teams
to have the exact opposite records as they do now.
Team Previews
Atlanta sits on an even record of 3-3 as they beat up on the panthers 31-17. The Falcons stuck with their
game plan of handing the rock to Michael Turner and run down the throats of the Panthers defense. It
is the ability to run these types of game plans that make the Falcons so dangerous. They have struggled
on offence with Matt Ryan getting off to a slow start but knowing you can depend on your run game it
is only time before the “Ryan to White” connection begins to unfold. It will be exciting to see what the
Falcons throw at the Lions but never count the Falcouns out as they are a comeback team themselves.
The Falcons battled back from a ten-point deficit in the fourth quarter to down the Eagles, 35-31 in week
2.
Detroit is pissed about their loss to San Francisco and as we know the coaches did not handled the end
of this game well. The situation had me wondering about how the rest of the locker-room handled the
defeat. A coach is someone you look up to, and on a young team like the Lions the coach is in some ways
a father figure. Detroit needs to swallow the defeat and move on to face a strong team in the Falcons.
The Lions let their averages in offense slip last week but they still average over 29 points a game and
allow just 19. Let’s hope the Lions get back on track this week and do not flounder like previous years.
My prediction
San Fran may have also exposed a hole in the Lions defense. The 49er’s kept the defensive line of the
Lions on the heels of their feet mixing in the run game and passing game beautify. A similar dose of
action you can expect from the Falcons this week from Turner and Matt Ryan. With the point spread in
favor of the Lions by a field goal I would place my bet with the Falcons plus the points. Come visit my
